What is the right way to handle a student ?

It is extremely important for teachers to remember to respond and not react. There is a big difference between the two. Do not let your emotions get the better of you but instead stay calm and make logical and intentional responses.  If you respect your students, they are more likely to respect you. Before dictating a set of classroom rules, ask your students how they would like their peers to behave.

We deal with disrespectful students sometimes with silence, caressing at other times, and trying to understand the reasons for their departure from the ordinary

Well, handling student depends on how you perveive their needs, social impact, classroom relationship, student - teacher relationship, then the top most endavour is to wok on the moral attitude toward seach other "student and teacher, student and student(s) " . It needs continuos attending, care, observation, if you do that, then you are likely to find the best way to handle them. Rules and regulations remain on papers, but social and behavioural attitude are a matter of education, like how you educate your kids at home.

Teachers are like parents and students are like children. Maintaining this relaionship between a teacher and his student makes it much easier to handle any type of student. A polite behaviour with parental love and a keenness to deliver with your full capacity and abilities are the keys to handle your student.

Such an attitude encourages your student to learn with zeal & dedication. He will respect you from the core of his heart and will obey you like your own child, in sha Allah.
