What are the Criticism of Selection Tests?

There are several types of "selection tests" with "employment/aptitiude tests" being the most ppular ones in the world of HR ... There are also other types of selction tests including "personaluty tests",  "interest tests", "entry-level tests" ..  "professional qualification tests" , "employee integrity tests"  ...  and so on so forth.

 

The main critcism towads these tests usually touches on the following points

 

  1. Debatable/quiestional relevenace of the test to the nature of the job
  2. The content and presentation style of the test itself and its content
  3. lack of clarity of the questions being asked
  4. Subjectivity/Objectivity of the questions being asked
  5. Unfairness of the marks given and their accuracy
  6. Very often  too short time allowance for the extend of the test and the questions being asked
