CV of a person is actually an instrument to highlight all that is good about the person. however it is an interviewers prerogative to talk about weaknesses as well.

it is also an undisputed fact that we all as prospective  candidtates and as human beings have our weaknesses as well along with some strengths.

as such it is important to think and identify the weaknesses within so that one can work upon them to overcome and bring about improvement. we may know so many things and are able to answer questions pertaining to those. But one seldom ponders or contemplates on what one is lacking in!

when asked what is / are the weaknesses saying that one has no weaknesses will only expose one's naivete   or immatuarity and the interviewer will certainly take that as a  NEGATIVE personality trait

it is important to clearly state what is the weakness ! but one should not stop there!! one must continue to elaborate as to how one is striving to overcome the weakness. go on to give an example and narrate how you overcame that weakness! a simple exapmple could be ones inadequacy to communicate effectively in English! however we also know that there are expert coaches and classes to advise on the matter and bring about gradual improvement. one may state how long it took and how one is more confident now about communicating effectively etc.

in scores of interviews where i was the interviewer, i have heard candidates saying they have no weakness/es. It is ok to have weaknesses. the first step towards overcoming a weakness is to begin with,  realize that there is  weakness.

The interviewer shall,be pleased to knw how one has strived hard to overcome the weakness and  appreciates the ability of a candidate to learn!

therefore do admit  one or two weakneeses along with  your strategy for overcoming them. itwould be to your advantage!

good luck

As everyone commented, All have strengths & weakness, however a good professional person is one who learns from his mistakes & improve those areas which he feels weak. When you talk about professional career one should be perfect by learning & getting experience day by day :)

Secondly if i was asked this question, i would have told one not related to my profession as when it comes to work i think, i am very good in it.

I will change the subject and start talking about my strength. Never talk about your weakness.

Best Answer for the question. Everyone has some professional weaknesses. May be I have also too, but I have ability to overcome with my courage and steadfastness for which I am100% Confident.

What I have answered for this question is below mentioned:

As no body is perfect in this world, so I do accept it for me also, at the moment, where I am sitting is the result of eliminating my inabilities till yet what I got known to me, and in future also I am ready to learn & accept my inabilities, which may occur for a particular situation or work assignment. And I must thank you for making me more inspired to keep learing!!!

This was the real time answer, I gave during my interview and was the first & last one.

First off, don't be showoff alike and tell that I don't have weaknesses. That's a straight No No. State a weakness which won't matter youf occupation and then change subject to talk about how you trying to overcome it. In an interview honesty does matter. And boasting would definitely be your pass to go out of interview.

When you're asked what your weakness is there are several different ways you can answer, including mentioning skills that aren't critical for the job, skills you have improved on, and turning a negative into a positive.

Turn a Negative into a Positive

Another option is try to turn a negative into a positive. For example, a sense of urgency to get projects completed or wanting to triple-check every item in a spreadsheet can be turned into a strength i.e. you are a candidate who will make sure that the project is done on time and your work will be close to perfect.

It is better to say a weekness you had in the past and continue with how you have changed now or how you are working on it to change; for me I use to say I was a short temper and now turned to be a cool headed -- still if someone lie, I do loose my temper which Iam working on it to handle diplomaticaly,   In the same way at the initial stage I was Individual performer and not good at team playing; slowly developed the habit of team playing and now I can co-op with any body. (Say u had a negative which you don't have now.. is very safe to tackle the situation)
