Both are important, but which more important depends on your situation, experience and plan, sometimes the salary will be the first choice because you have a plan for midterm, the job future for long-term is not important issue for you. If your plan to stay long at this company, then its future is important, you can accept to be paying less than another company, but you care much about company status.

Practically speaking, both really matters.

Status has never really been important to me, other people will define your status by the nature of your abilities and your commitment, a perceptive boss will recognise your attributes and accord you the position in the "pecking order" that your endeavours deserve. In my advancing years salary is, again, less important I would much rather have job satisfaction. However it wasn't always the same, in my younger years I, like most others, wanted the highest salary that I thought I could command, that, I think, is human nature.

Openly speaking! no doubt & no doubt salary (income, wage, earnings, money, remuneration) is the only thing prompting human beings to do something. So far company status is concerned, it is too important.

for me, both are very important alongside other important factors like: position itself and its job description, new experience that I will gain, my oportunity to contribute in the company success.

SALARY IS IMPORTANT,BUT THE COMPANY HAS TO BE WELL STANDING ECONOMICALLY,AND FINANCIALLY,SO I WILL  PREFER THE STATUS OF THE COMPANY

The answer depends on the person applying.... are you looking for a career path? or are you looking to work a few years and then open your own business?

to improve your career , the company status is very important....but if you are looking to work a few years and then open a restuarant or a consulting company, the more cash you get now, the more important it is for you....
