What is the difference between Non Conformance Report and Corrective Action Report?

Nonconformance report is to report observed non-conformity - Object, concern, magnitude of the concern, etc

Corrective action report is to report

root causes identified with respect to occurence, escape and system.

Then identifying corrective actions to eliminate the root causes with action plan.

It also includes verification and validation of correctve actions.

a nonconformance is some kind of defect/deviation with respect to a given requirement.A corrective action is a response implemented to correct the occurrence of a nonconformance.

The Non-conformity report is a records contain and  descript the statement and the evidence of the problem meanwhile the corrective action problem report contain the action taken to prevent the reoccurrence of the problem (after the identification of the root causes):

As a document some organization they use the NCR to records both statements   

Note: not all the NC need corrective action, meanwhile it need correction (containment action)

Non Conformance report which is work done without approval of any concerned documents/not related to the standards (Construction Standards/Contract specification). Specially some works not followed by the standards and specifications.

Corrective action report:

It is the formal proposal/Procedure/to prove/giving solution in some particular works in order to solve the issue within the certain period given by the standard rules with procedures.

A Nonconformance Report is a report of an identified (or suspected) nonconformance with respect to a particular product or services. A Corrective Action Report is a report on what was done (if anything) to correct/eliminate future nonconformances. A Corrective Action Report is typically triggered by a Nonconformance Report which requires Corrective Action. Note that not all nonconformances will trigger a corrective action.

Reporting of non-fulfilment of a requirement is a Corrective action report. Where as corrective action report shall contain the action taken to eliminate the cause of a detected non conformity or other undesirable situation. Effectiveness of corrective action can be seen over period of time if the same or similar nonconformance does't arise beacuase of the cause.

It depends what industry you are talking about, but it could be what a company sends to the government when they are in violation of a law about how they are going to get back on track so they don't get shut down.In a company, it could also be a report that employees write when they have done something wrong and the boss wants them to improve and get better rather than firing them.In either case, it is a plan for improving and correcting actions... by individuals or by companies.

Non-conformance report shows the exact possible error due to not following or deviate the procedure, whle corrective action shows that, how the process or mathod will follow the right procedure.
