Who is william shakespear?

William Shakespeare was probably the most famous of all English playwrights. He was born in Stratford upon Avon, England in1564 and lived until1616. He was married to Anne Hathaway and wrote some of the "classics" of English Literature, his works included: The Merchant of Venice, The Tempest, MacBeth. Hamlet and others. He opened the "Globe" theatre in Stratford and there is now a "new" Globe theatre on the original site.
