Productivity is improving all stages of production, from raw material to the delivery of product to the customer

The real cost of quality is the cost of avoiding non conformance and failure. Another cost is the cost of not having quality—of losing customers and wasting resources. As long as companies continually interact with their customers and various partners, and develop learning relationships between all levels of management and employees, the levels of productivity and quality should remain high.

Certainly productivity is about good management irrespective of the functional areas. Be it sales management, HR management, Financial management, Materials management,etc.

I would say it is a60/40 chance to leadership. Sometimes all resources and motivation the management can give will contribute only40% to employees productivity. They need to focus more on current task rather than global goals. Also should not be worried about any high level changes.
