What's the meaning of IP Address?

If you understand that computers in the same network are people of bunch of friends then the IP addresses are the nickname that they call each other with.

These nickname are incoded in the own language in this case ZEROs and ONEs

Ip means internet protocol.If we want to communicate two or more system we need a ip address. Each system has unique ip address. ip address consists of4 bytes seperated by dots. In Technical's Term:

It is a numerical label assigned to each device participating in a computer network for communication.

IP Stands for Internet Protocol a unique ID of a machine over the network

Ip address is like our phone no or else our id no . It is unique . It is4 octate no , each octace having its own spacific no denoted by host and network portion .

10.0.0.0  like10 is the network portion for class a where as0.0.0 is host portion

IP address is classfied in group

class a1  -  126

class b128  -191

class c192 -224

and127 is reserved for loopback or selftest

class d and f are for the future research and multicasting

IP stand on "Internet Protocol"

it same as P.O. Box number

if you want send a message for any one you sholud know his address or his P.O.Box or his IP address.

IPv4 is32Bit long divided into4 octet each take value from0 to255 like this

IP its like your home address let others to know where you living to deliver something or contact you, in computer other device connected in network IP will be given to let other device know where your in the  network and contact with your computer  or device by sending data or receiveng data. Its special number given to your device by DHCP

AN IP address is a number combination assign to a  computer or device on a TCP/IP network. Networks using the TCP/IP protocol route messages based on the IP address of the destination.
