may be rendering for a software likee revit is not very fast but it is good , anyways, revit using a another sofwarw like Lumion 4.0 - for 3D - Render architectural

it is very easy and fast you can insert your model using an add in in revit to transfer the model to Lumion and then complete your rendering and other effects, the good thing is tht it can acheave whate3DMax does in moths , I can be Acheaved by Lumion by Just Hours Only This Is the linke

there is aplug in called revit interpolity you get it installed with3dsmax since2011 version this plugin give you the ability to do every thing in revit and render it in3dsmax easly and your materials wont be lost because revit uses the same render engine in3ds max (mental ray render) so you can do what ever you want in revit and render it in3ds max without any extra effort . even with your lightinig sets .

revit render can be very very good but cannot level on max's best render quality. the good thing is, that you can render your revit model to max using the same materials assigned in revit project.

witht revit you can not achieve the same quality of rendring as3ds max because in3ds max you have more possibilities for modeling  your scene and you can change the rendring engine"from mental ray to vray which is more better rendring engine in my opignion" with the material that  you like   hope this will be helpful ,you can model your project in revit and render it in3ds max by adding some changes to your scene "personaly that what i do when i do not have time  and the result is great "

Okay.

This is a good question :)

I think within the Revit itself you can't actually! .. But my experience in Revit showed me that if you just spent an hour in enhancing your Render of revit by photoshop.. You'll see great results!
