·         It has to be seen which employees are going on a sick leave or stress leave. What is the %.

·         A manager who himself leads from the front has nothing to fear.

·         A manager who himself comes to work6 days a week and stays for12 hours can have an expectation that all employees will at least come5 days to office and do at least8 hours work.

·         A manager who has a goal would be able to guide  himself and  the team towards the goal. And once when at least a short term goal is reached there would be a party. Could be at a restaurant or holiday resort depends  on the profile of the manager but he/ she should show his /her thankfulness after the collective goal is reached . As it was due to team work that the goal was reached.

In the IT/ITES industry there is a client mandate that has to be met. Otherwise you lose the contract and everyone can lose his job.                 So at any point of time if there is a challenge employees may be told to give more than their100% in time and effort  so that the contract is secure. But the manager must lead from the front. Must never leave office early  and should not go on stress/sick leave himself if he is not physically sick.

Asking people to leave is not the solution and is the most easiest way to escape human problem and the most expensive affair. Find out the reasons for others becoming stressed out and try resolving the issue before taking such calls.
