"are people loyal to their jobs" is quite the general statement, people will find multiple reasons to be loyal to their proffessions

How can we buy loyalty?

Loyalty , unfortunately, is not bought but earned. not everyone's loyalty can be bought. And the ones that can be bought are likely to turn over on the next best opportunity.

Best way to pay for loyalty is through relationship building, communication, and transparency

Loyalty means that an employee must:

  • be honest with his employer while he works for him
  • use good judgment in his role as an employee
  • put the interests of his employer above his own
  • protect confidential information
  • and if i did not sign an employment contract when I started working for my employer. Do I still have to be loyal to him?

Yes. Employment contracts can be written or verbal, so even if you did not sign an employment contract, you still have one. Every employee must act with loyalty toward his employer even if this duty has not been written down anywhere.

We can write books to answer this question however, find my point of view in a nutshell :

- Involve yourself in their personal lives : if your employee sees you as a leader, not a manager, he/she will be really loyal and will appreciate what you're doing. Talk with your people and try to solve their non-business related problems.

- Recognize : Loyal people are found in a place that appreciates people. That doesn't mean an extra bonus. In some cases, a thanks e-mail is enough.

- The art of delegation : You should delegate your employee over some tasks, make him/her feel his contribution to the place. Make them stretch and have an education plan for them.
