When to install 3 phase current appt 180 m2 and not relying on single phase? Load 2 refrigerator 2 Water heater 3 Ac x 2 HP , 2Ac x 3 HP , 1 WMc

IT.S MENTIONED IN MANY CODES THAT WHEN EVER THE LOAD  EXCEED THAN8-10 kv AUTOMATICALLY YOU HANE TO CONVERT TO3 PHASE.

according to the descrition, its not an issue of relying on single phase but your given maximum current by the service provider.

as long as all your equipment is single phase once.

usually tou can ask the provider to allow you for higher load if its max. load issue.

Let me tell the people in details, the matter is not about phases, the matter is about distribution of current, because all the equipments run on single phase, now what is the need of second phase? this is because your wires are not as much thick to pass the full load, or in simple words, your cable guage is not right, if we are talking about apartment, then we will have to see that what is coming inside panel board, is it single phase with neutral, with the guage of6mm wire? or with the guage of12mm3 phase cable.

 

Let me tell you more, one refrigerator need5 amps at starting and it will take approx.700 watts, an Air Conditioner take9 amps at start and run on1500 watts, if we are talking about water heater, then some water heater take1000 watts and some take2000 watts. Lets take minimum watts.1400 watts for refrigerators,2000 watts for water heater,3 AC1 Ton3600 watts, and2 AC1.5 Tons3000 watts.1400+2000+3600+3000=10000 watts, it means10k watts. If it is washing machine, WMc then you haven't mention here that what is the size of washing machine, is it with dryer or simple washing machine? So, need to understand this thing, you will also consider cieling fan, the lighting bulbs, whether they are helogen, CFL, or tube light, you are not considering computer, laptops etc. so all these things will need heavy cable or three phase.

To avoid the over current in a phase, we can feed the power supply in three phases. Because the connected load is13400 VA. So let us we assumed the required point of power supply is3 Phase,380V,60 Hz . So the main breaker is3P32A MCB or MCCB and corresponding branch breakers for the loads. If they above point of supply is ok then the required cable to be4Cx10 square mm Cu. PVC/PVC cable.

you dont need to install3 phases in an apartement only if you have driving force like tripolar machines ,most all sample costumer need single phase ,and first you have to ask if the balancing of network is good at the source , consumption of these equipments  estimated at 8 kva  ,in algeria3 phases for non comercial costumer is not allowed .

As per European regulations my opinion is that depends the cost of the installation, you can save money at income wires section using three phases but main protection will be expensiver, then you should assess if your installation has any threw phase circuit, in this case you cannot avoid three phases installation. Depends ease to get3 phases from supply, and difficulties to install in an old ducts attending availability of space reasons. ;-)
