What is the difference between "Refrigeration" and "Freezing"? (Please i need a technical answer related to food industries) Thank you all.

Refrigeration is cooling without freezing and could be used for any type of food with long shelf life and must be fresh with moisture but freezing is needed for food such as ice cream and meat.

 

For example if you are exporting cakes then you can you use cooling with room temperature without freezing but if you are exporting chocolate or ice cream or meat then you should use freezing tempreture to keep it safe for usage.

Refrigeration and freezing are probably the most popular forms of food preservation in use today. In the case of refrigeration, the idea is to slow bacterial action to a crawl so that it takes food much longer (perhaps a week or two, rather than half a day) to spoil. In the case of freezing, the idea is to stop bacterial action altogether. Frozen bacteria are completely inactive.

In simple language refrigeration is cooling and is a used for shorter duration of time for house hold items or medicines which are not perishable like which can be maintained between temp3-8 degrees C. and for items which are consumable like food items sealed properly not more than10 days if stored as per the recommendations.

Deep Freezers are used for storing items  which are persishable like raw foods items,fruits,ice creams and industrial items requiring freezing upto -18 degrees Centigrade. for a longer period of time but not later than as specified for a product in order to maintain its quality and flavor if stored in airtight containers can maintain quality and flavor upto70 days.

How technical,you know better.Refrigeration is storing foodstuffs in a fridge to slow down  or make them remain fresh for some time.Freezing is placing something at temperatures below zero and obviously it becomes  iced.My attempt at a technical answer.

In English at least, refrigeration is a noun that encompasses an industry. If you are, for example, manufacturing a freezer, then you are in the industry of refrigeration.

Technicaly In refrigration often the temperature that we are using in food industry is positive1 to3 in cabinets roll in and through or cold rooms and in freezer we are using freezer cabinets reach in or freezer rooms and many more and we are maintaing the temperature upto -15 to -25 in food industury.. this should b a right answer because i am currently working in engineering department of emirates flight catering and we are maintaing this temperature in refrigartion ...and basically freezer is a kind of refrigration just temperature and equipemnts difference
