In a MDB (main distribution board ) with 1600 A rating Is it better to use ACB or MCCB ?

Unlike MCCB(upto800A) the size of AC, B itself calls for its sustaining capability while breaking(or disconnecting) huge amount of currents(1600A).

Definitely, ACB should be used for such a high amount of current.
