If you are working within a big inc. and the Direct Mgmt offer you to decrease your salary instead of firing you,how you will act towards this offer ?

Firstly will understand the issues facing the company. Why is the step being taken. If the company is undergoing a tough time I will want to stand by and help make the turn about.

However if it is for no reason then probably best to part ways.
