To answer your question, you need to find answers to the following:

What industry / market is the question related to? Retail, hospitality, Leisure, etc?

What type of client? Small, medium, large?

What products? how many SKUs? what size of inventory?

Geographical distribution? single or multi-location, across countries or local?

What is the financial requirement? wiz single currency / multi currency? multi currency but with base currency reporting.

what modules required? Sales, purchase, inventory, distribution, process management, production, HRIS, Payroll, finance etc

Once you have answers to the above and several other related questions, you need to find a solution that answers all your questions. Make sure the vendors is suitable and qualified to support you based on your requirement locally / internationally across the implementation.

make sure you budget for post implementation enhancement expenses.

make sure you select the solution that is customizable to your requirement (as long as it is industry best practices) and dont force you to change your processes to fit the system.

It is not important that which ERP is good for POS, All the ERP are good.
More imprtant is whether your POS is open for the erp to get customized.
Micros provide only view of their data where as in Aloha it is fully customizable with all the ERP, Which one do you have????
