Capicty to carry data through a communication link, typical systems and values are T1/E1=1.544 Mbit/s

T1 Is American Standard and E1 is Europiens standard, T10/E10=10MBPS, similarlay E100=100Mbps, E1000=1Gbps  which is commonly known as Gig links, In Optical transmission  Higher Bandwidth are carried and nomenclature is as follows

OC-1 =51.85 MbpsOC-3 =155.52 MbpsOC-12 =622.08 MbpsOC-24 =1.244 GbpsOC-48 =2.488 GbpsOC-192 =9.952 GbpsOC-255 =13.21 Gbps
