If you do not have common sense, you will never be a solid Compliance Officer.

Common sense is not common to all. It comes from experiences. If my boss asks me a quote for hiring ft. truck, I will try to find out the purpose first. For that we must have common sense to ask questions. For that, you need to take your boss into confidence. You must demonstrate that you are leader. Still,  If my boss only gives an order, I will find suppliers of ft truck. Here you must have common sense to use Internet, directory etc sources to find out suppliers. Get quotes and availability schedules from these suppliers. Then provide a comparative analysis to my boss and involve in decision making.

Easier said than done, such knowledge comes from experiences, observation, networking, above all, asking right questions to professionals. There is no End to learning!

Education and training without common sense is nothing and useless. Common sense is above all. Without common sense a person can be called insane. Hence common is applied in every situation
