What I do is to play lesson vocabulary with them by making teams A, B ,C and give them numbers, so it also help in learning their lesson. :)

the best way is to keep them busy and active on learning and class work besides using some other ice breakers.

keep it inspiring and intersting; a keen desire to learn more and apply it in day to day life

Make something toward their interest, for example, if they are finished with one lesson without interrupting then they can have reading time or give them a peace of candy to thank them for their participation. Then they will slowly learn that if they are good then good things will happen to them.

Design the course according to the class  and  give them consolditions
