NO

Education and degrees are important but there is no alternate of experience.

Especially degree in sub-continent does not shows how intelligent you are rather how good your memory is.

because in this region the education system does not check you knowledge but it actually test you memory.

No ... if you have a practical experience of the job and the degree yes it does. but only the degree wont define the eligibility because the  experience is theorical based .

No, a degree is only a stepping stone towards a goal, provided you get the opportunity to work towards that goal.  For eg.   In today's world, many people have degrees of a particular field, but are working in fields that are not according to their qualifications or knowledge gained through a degree.  Yet, they are successful in what they do, due to their ability to pick up new skills easily and develop their talent in the field they are in.

I believe, if you have the talent, the opportunity to use it and the will power to succeed, then a degree is secondary, when  it is measured with experience.  It is no wonder that the old saying is apt in this situation, which is, 'Experience is the best teacher' and it is the teacher who is expected to have more knowledge than students.  Therefore, even though a degree is necessary, it cannot take the place of practical knowledge and ability, as it is more important to recognise the need of a situation to resolve it.  Businessmen in the past did not have high degrees to be successful and today's graduates need to gain more skills to face practical problems which comes only through experience.  Therefore, a person's competence and ability can be measured depending on his ability to learn a skill at any age and not based on a degree.

MOst important is personality

as the saying hoes Hire personality , train knowledge

if an degree holder is introvert or has low leadership or communiction skills , his ability to lead a team is low although his ability to do a standalone job by himselef is excellent

I fully disagree with the above mentioned statement. If you go back in time and search the history of mankind, you will find that vast majority of successful and self-made millionaires and billionaires that lived over the years and currently living are people who didn't have that many degree that we are having at this time. I don't mean to be offensive but it's true that vast majority of us who are pursuing and completed specialised degree in their respective field of study and specialisation only acquire them for the certificates but not for the knowledge and skills that we really require to shine and prosper in life. I believe, an individual's philosophy towards his/her life is equally important than acquiring specialised degrees in their respective field of interest and specialisation. There is no substitute to practical work experience when it comes down to the professional outset. The more precious and proven in-hand work experience you have in your arena, the more valuable you become and your employability increases which in turn makes you stand out of the crowd.

A degree will always be a basis for an individual's competency, as it is through THEORIES and BASICS do we learn the Foundations in life.

When building a house, it is important that the foundations (ie. pilars) are in the right place and are of the proper materials. This makes your house sturdy and built to last.. Experiences on the otherhand are like storms in life, that either makes or breaks you.. Yes, you can build a house out of experience.. But that doesn't mean it will be patterned to your foundations.. It can add up. But the over all perspective is still different.

An individual's Degree is the base.. Experiences in life and work, makes it more tastier and better.. It's the icing in the cake.. :)

No! but for some unknown reason it is very difficult to find a job in the middle east without one, I have2 diplomas with23 years post apprenticeship experience in many technical fields and industries including the last6 years as a building technical/ facilities manager and have not been successful in finding a job because clients would rather pay for a piece of paper rather than practical hands on experience?.

Experience and academic qualification both are important. Academic degree is the basic and Experience is the Master.
