How is Steel placed in Arab countries to maintain bottom cover in case of beams , slabs, footings? Are any blocks placed to cover or chairs are used?

Hello, It's nice to share questions and answers.

We used something called spacer block, It's a mortar cubic shape block with50 mm cubic dimensions, They are prepared in advance of concrete placement time.

The spacers are positioned underneath rebars and distributively arranged around reinforcements bars net so to ensure minimum cover of steel.

It has a twin steel wire , one mm thickness ,  from one side of block with about10 cm long each single wire , The wires are tightened to bars so to prevent movements during placement .

there are plastic plates called spacers, however in palestine we usually use a pieces of tiles to make the cover
