''Practise makes perfect!''.
specialization.it is called specialization.
A repetitive task that is done the same way every time represents a system's work as opposed to a human's work. Employ automation, if a vailable, to perform the task or work on automating it.
I see that repetitive work is boaring and a main source of human errors especially without automatic check points.
That is true and if innovative one can introduce better ways of performing a task and making it efficient to get a better result.
The down-side of performing routine tasks is that it can fail especially where HSE is involved - cutting corners, not being observant can lead to loss of lives e.g. Piper Alpha disaster or revenue.
When I went offshore on a routine visit - i noticed a loose bolt which I immediately brought to the attention of the OIM. He said that one gets used to the 'look' and 'job' where sometimes things can slip by unnoticed.
