Dear teachers and professors, Could you please answer this Q , What are the differences between the cognitive domain and affective domain?

The fundamental difference is that of heart and mind.

Cognitive Learning elucidate knowledge based factual data whereas Affective Learning emphasizes on emotional and behavioural patterns

cognitive means like the psychological result of perception and learning and reasoning something but in affective domain means it is a domain, were characterized by emotion that why these two words are inter related.

Well, I am not familiar with the terms, but I will try to improvise here. Cognitive dervies from cognition which is the abilitiy to perceive ideas, but affective derives from affection which is related to sensations and sentiments. So, each is a different domain of activity.

Naturally as teachers, we lay more emphasis on the cognitive domain (like content knowledge and development of intellectual skills such as recognition of facts, comprehension,  evaluation and analysis) while teaching because we erroneously believe that our students think and learn with their brain. But little do we know that the affective factors like students motivation, attitude,  values and perception can significantly enhance, inhibit or outrightly prevent learning.
