Programmable Logic Controller
PLC means Programmable Logic Controller used for Industreal Automation. It doeas the work using Logic/ Logic gates.
It needs input devices in order to give out put , and then it requires feedback also. because it needs to understand the status of the work its doing.

but maybe in power electric plc means "power line carrier" Transmitting the communication signal over the power line used before more than100 year ,used by the power utilities . In themost simpleway it is an AM modulator coupled to a power line.
