A quick puzzle just to keep our brain's motor running: If 2=5, 3=10, 4=17,what is 5 equal to?

I believe answer could be 2 or 26...The rationale for my answers are below: 1) 5=2, because the first equation established that 2=5 2) 5=26, because 2x2+1=5, 3x3+1=10, 4x4+1=17, similarly 5x5+1=26 What do you guys think?

Answer could be in two ways2 or26

2=5 (2*2+1)

3=10 (3*3+1)

4=17 (4*4+1)

5=26 (5*5+1) or5=2 Because2=5
