What if you worked with someone who managed to ‘take credit’ for all your great ideas. How would you handle it?

Let him get the credit, don't worry but ask him openly and politely to mention you, it happened to me before many times, I didn't say anything at the begining but as he needed me for explanations many times because he was stuck alone, so I asked him openly to recognize that this is my effort, and I don't deserve  to be hidden or asked secretely, and that I should be the presenter of my job, then at the end he called me and I did the presentation myself, he didn't repeat it again.

Respected Saneela, it is highly unethical if someone is taking credit of your great ideas.  Only suggestion  is do not disclose your ideas in front of anyone always try to portray on a proper platform when you have been asked to do so otherwise we can not control the theft.  Also please note that knowledge can not be theft ultimately you will get benefit of your ideas no one else.  Good Luck!

My Reaction will Be positive..........................nothing to do just concenrate on your work they can only benifit from my idea in short term........................but they can,t take my strenght...........

though its a common phenomenon but indeed very frustrating..best you can do to avoid is to hush up until you're ready to present your idea through proper communication channel.

since you are the generator of great ideas you will figure it out.

great ideas comes from great people, and greatness glows, don't worry people will know sooner or later.

just don't waste your time and immagination on loosers and thiefs.don't let them get you down.

just keep generating new ideas and they will be buried soon.your will be noticed soon.

my advice that i use and mostly works:

1- never give full picture or information of your idea or work.

2- when someone take the credit semply ask for the process or the hiding tips you put and be more specific that you have the answers of your questions.

3- when you presint the idea in the meating you will earn your idea back and they will know who is the master of this idea.

this is what i call dark tactics "awoch" :)

or just try to have alternative idea before talking about your first one as always having plan B

Dear Saneela Creative people their pocket of ideas never get empty 

if it's a startup business idea i would rearchock him to death :)but if we work in the same organization and he steal an idea within i will just get a new idea and prove that my life don't depend on just what he took from me.

Dont get effected by it because he/she would have taken credit for work done by and efforts by you, but if you analyse you have gained knowledge and experience from it , because this situation will not be there forever in future doing nothing and taking credit wont survive , because truth comes out and then it would be an embrassment , you can lucky once , twice or several times but not for life so believe in your self and it will pay may not be today but soon. 

Do not let this affect your work. Work hard and believe it that one day is totally yours. That day brings you opportunities and moves you from nothing to everything. :)

be proud of yourself. at the end of the day, he truly knows that it is your ideas at first. time will tell, everybody will know the real truth and you will get the accolades. just put your feet on the ground always, and everyone will repsect you.

So you have to just wait and learn a lesson from this, do not let him do it again. Sometimes it's normal, manager gets the credit even though they did members of his time (although all the credit for the result). Sometimes it does not matter (teamwork), it is essential that the team succeeded. Time show and then when the truth comes to light (know the truth). With this strategy, a man can not thrive and succeed.
