Such as icontact.com, mailchimp.com etc. or do you send it though your own mail server?

There are a lot of Email Marketing Tools or (ESP's).
Most famous are constant Contact , Icontact , getresponse, MadMimi, VerticalResponse ect , but the best one is Mailchimp.
Which is the best and easy to use as compare to other platforms.
For Enterprise it will be better to have their own mail server.

I've used Mailchimp before and it's fantastic for small businesses.
Yet, I recommend that larger companies that are heavily dependent on mailers use their own mail server.

It depends on some criteria, for instance, what do you need it for, how advanced your skills in the use of autoresponders are, how big is your database, how often do you plan to send emails, if you have a support of IT specialist and so on…

Personally, I can suggest two reliable systems:

FreshMail which is browser based system (so you don’t have to install or configure it). After you sign up, you can use it straight away. Big advantage is its Customer Service so you can call them or email them with any question and they will figure out it for you quickly. Free account lets you send up to2000 messages to500 recipients each month. So you can test all Freshmail capabilities with no risk.

CampaignMonitor - it’s also browser based. Is has bit more functions than Freshmail but it doesn’t have a ready templates library. You have to create them by yourself or let someone else do it for you and then upload them to the system. There isn't free plan.

There are many options out there, but I have been using the below three and found them way better over the rest

  • For free emails or if you have contacts under 2000 use MailChimp
  • If you want a bit more engagement with your subscribers, the ability to have different templates, use Campaign Monitor
  • If you really want to take a step up from plain email marketing to automated email marketing using actionable sequences with API, tags and nurture use Infusionsoft

You will not regret the financial investment with the last option because it works across landing pages, websites and anyhting you want a decent CRM to do.
