science might be the enemy number one for students nowadays; so for such reasons I might advice teachers to ask simple questions first and avoid asking scientific ones in order to make students feel relieved, also tutors must teach their students that it’s not all about facts, figures, countless equations and experiments. If it isn’t science, where else can they play with colorful chemicals, magnets, flying objects and weird squiggly things that they’ve never come across

A science teacher should not only motivate his/her students, but also INSPIRE them. A teacher can use the following good techniques in the classroom to make student love science:

  1. Show science experiments connecting to the real live of the students.
  2. Engage students in Science Project in class/home.
  3. Let students do ONE SCIENCE FAIR each term.
  4. Tell interesting and real stories of the scientist to inspire your students.
  5. Engage your students to read books about the living and dead scientist.
  6. Guide your students to show their own experiments at the SCIENCE FAIR.
  7. Provide science magazines to your students.
  8. Let your students read SCIENCE NEWS every day by taking turns.
  9. Provide them information about the new things being invented.
  10.  Review your class progress daily, and amend and modified the class science activities.

Use Socio Cultural and Historical Theory of teaching science. Use more and more ANALOGY (see my recent paper in STEMplanet journal ; Jan2014 ; vol1)  and make students to talk in classroom.

Only by gentle persuasion and personal example

I think if the teacher can use legends and stories to introduce science, he will attract the students attention and make them love it.
