Dress up yourself  and be with yourself.  Tell the interviewer what you are what you can do and I assure you, you will win the job.

I agree with Mubarik, non verbal comms are vital, the interviewer needs to see you are confident to take on this role and are trustworthy to the point that you will stay on with the company.

but I think you need to start thinking outside of the box, everyone would have read information online about being confident when going into the interview and body language and so on but how do you make yourself standout? basically through research. Take the time to research the company and your department very well, check their website/s and whether they have been in the news recently. make sure you are up to date with the industry news showing your keen interest in the company adn the position.

Ask questions that suggest you aim to stick and develop within the company and one of my secrect formulas is to check the interviewers profiles online. chcked their linked in twitter and start to understand more about the person, check out their interests and see if any of their interests match with yours, if they do then try to bring these up in the interview.

To look like a true professional and an Employer or recruiter to take you seriously you should have good personality and that will come with -

1. Good neat dressing if you have business attire they think you have taken this post seriously casual dressing shows a casual attitutde and what you think about this company and this post or designation which you have applied the job.

2. RIght body language , everyone has butterflies in stomach /nervousness during important interviews but showing it will go against a candidate , be confident whatever you speak and dont stammer , be confident and show it in your attitude, dont be over confident and also arrogant because that shows through the body language

3. Communication - be iffirmative and answer to the point, be curious , ask questions, give clear answers ,make sure everyone has your attention if group of interviewers attend the interview and also keep looking at everyone's eyes its shows you are confident

do your best and rest they will decide.

first and most important thing is calm your self before going to see the interviewr, and concentrate on your non verbal communcation and then you should have controlled on your voice pitch and speech and yes as you mentioned appearance, confidence and comunication it counts as well infect these are also very important things to impress the interviewer.

As it is saying goes that “First impression is the last impression”.  You leave your first impression as soon as you enter into the interviewer’s room. So one needs to be neat and formal dressed up.

Also must have company’s background information and future plans so that you show your intensions to contribute towards company’s continuous success.

Also answer the question to the point with confidence.  Be aware of your body language, bring the interviewer to the area of your expertise where you may have more chances to impress.

Show your confidence and leave the room to meet the interviewer as a team members soon.
