What is the difference between sales and marketing ?

In my opinion i think that they are connected in a way , Sales are caused by marketing and marketing is the process to get your target for sales , so if you want to be a good sales representative you should have recognizable marketing skills .

Sales and marketing both process go hand in hand. The sale is the final goal of any product and service we offer and marketing is the process help in the journey (even before the journey starts) to achieve that end goal. However, these two are important management concepts which help the organisation not only to develop a good product for the customers but also helps the company to understand the entire perspective of the market demand, competition, customer satisfaction and how to retain its position.

My understanding of sales is that it is the act or process of selling the actual product or services  while marketing on the other hand is trying to inform the client about the existence of your product or the development of your existing product.

Sales come first to do marketing.
