If we have to narrow it down to 1 important skill for a salesperson it would be Client relation development.

Basically, client relationship development is the ability to transform any client from a wanter to a needer by understanding how he likes to wear, how he likes to be treated, and what exactly is he coming back for.

Once this is maintained work on the relationship with the client through constant follow-up of any type of promotion that suits his style; Any new item that suits his taste...etc...
