Can be written or oral , based on the nature of the job u apply to. Some jobs need oral questions testing your abilities of speaking for example , and others written questions testing your abilities of writing and so on

oral , for the eye contact and to ensure spontaneity

It depends on the question , some questions need a quick oral answer & others need more time & written ..some interviews have both of them .

Combination of both as it highlights both written and verbal capabilities.  In majority of cases the applicant will show a stronger aptitude for one of the two.

Just depends on the position and the required skills the potential employer is looking for.

they are both of great importance, each is directed toward one area of your abilities, specialities, knowledge, attitude, carisma, communicationg skills......etc.

you must understand that some people  are not at their comfort zone when it comes to oral and these are the type of people who are applying for back office or supportive jobs including technical desciplines.

while front office people don't feel comfortable with written tests as they are really people and communication oriented people, such people are sales, marketing, media ...people.

if i was an HR manager i would base our strategy and tactics for interviews based on the position.

being in marketing and sales i personally would be more comfortable with oral,i can be more convincing and perform better.

  • Oral interview not only define your knowledge but also indicate your Attitude, Behaviour , Personality, Abilities of handling stressful situation.

If interview is about understanding the candidate, Oral interview is the best. Body language, spontaniety, IQ, intonation of the candidate can be determined with a one-one interview. Written interviews will require plans on the question and then time to evaluate the answers.

Both, more weightage would however go to oral. Once again, depends on the role.
