A person applies for a position in which they have work experience but no academic training except on job. Would they be considered for the position?

In terms of skills yes they will considered for that position.. thats why there is an interview, evaluation and it depends how the person answers the interview. growing professionally will be acquired while on job and it depends how long the person worked on previous job.
