If the opinions are conflicting, only one opinion has to be chosen after understanding both of their strengths & weaknesses. The trade-off will impact the overall decision.

The situation here shows that the PM has an urgency to rectify the conflict & make a decision to apply the valid solution to the problem.

This comes under the category of "Forcing" (option B) because :

-It cannot cannot be smoothing because the PM states that he heard enough solutions before this conflict.

-It cannot be a compromise as only one solution is being enforced without further negotiation or consideration from the other team member.

-It cannot be withdrawal because he has made a decision to go with first solution.

I would say its B (Forcing).

This because the Project Manager is making the second team member accept or align without any other option.

B Forcing To take one side and neglect to hear the other side is to compel to make a decision away from compromise or a fair settlement action

Answer: BExplanation: Forcing means putting your foot down and making a decision. One person wins, one person loses, and that's the end of that.

The answer is C.Compromise.Let me explain according to what I understood

Here the project manager is stuck in betweeen two of his memebers who have conflicting opinions about a specific topic. As the first member explains her side and presents the solution in front of the manager, the manager decides to go with the solution he/she has presented without listening to the other members solution.

Here the manager is taking a risk by going with the solution of the first member, you never know the second memebr may have a better solution than the first one.So whenever there are conflicting opinions on a topic the manager must first listen to the solutions of bith the sides and then take his decison as to which solution will be profitable for his company.

Hello, I find him representing the withdrawal more than anything else because he has deleted one alternative to the best solution for the decision after the trade-off

Remember that there are many ways to solve a problem. The PM should have taken all of the member's proposed solution into consideration and if possible incorporate all of the recommendations to arrive at the best possible outcome for the sake of the project.
