In a very short and precise answer,

Islamic Finance: is investing its finance resources and also covering its finance requirements, only in accordance with islamic " Sharia" rules.

Whereas,

Conventional Finance, is investing its resources and covering its finance requirements, targeting only to maximize the profits and the Return on Equity "R.O.E." despite of methods in which invest its finance resources' nor how to cover its finance requirements.
