Industrial Engineering Triangle :Quality -Cost- Time and thus are the main parameters that the Industrial engineer should focus on them And in my opinion the main three responsibilities that IE should do to fulfill the triangle are: 1.
Determine manufacturing processes, staff requirements and production standards, develop manufacturing methods, labor utilization standards, and cost analysis systems to improve facility utilization.
2.
Coordinate quality control objectives and activities to resolve production problems, maximize product reliability, and minimize cost.
3.
Apply lean manufacturing, six sigma, TQM, Operation Management, ......
principles.

IE triangle refers to Industrial Engineering triangle which is based on follwing three factors: 1.
Quality : Quality is utmost important for all the products and every production manager should strive hard to get the best quality of the product with the use of ISO, TQM & other quality techniques and Quality Control Officer should regularly check the quality of a product.
2.
Cost : Cost is one of the important factor for a commodity, because, most of the people in the world go a cost effective product.
But, cost control does not mean to reduce the quality, it means giving the best quality in given cost with the best use of all the resources available.
3.
Time: Time again is very important part, because production manager's job is to produce the item in a given time to reduce the demand & supply gap in the market.
And the manager has to take care that in a given time he should manufacture the product without compromising on quality & cost.
I hope I have given some what relevant answer with the knowledge I have in this areas, as I dont have technical background.
