I would say that doesn't solve the whole problem. Then I would propose additional solutions. Being polite and not saying doesn't help the organization to be agile and solving problems.

NEVER EVER say someone is wrong, even if you are100% sure that he is.

he will take a defense strategy, and you are stuck.

if you have better solution, you need to lead your boss to the solution you need. this is actually a skill.

you don't have to agree or disagree, but try to built in his idea then alternate it.

One must come with pros and cons of the proposal that suggestion is most attractive. if you propose the advantages only than the management doubts. so we need to ask for some space to think and then suggest.

I would suggest and i personally found it very effective is to  Match your style to the boss to put over your case.

If the boss is analytical, bolster your argument with graphs and charts. "If the boss is a people pleaser, tell him why the idea will hurt the people he cares about. You can't expect one meeting to make the boss reject his position instantly.

He remains unconvinced after a few tries, give it up. Make sure your exit is both gracious and professional. Thank him for opportunity of sharing your views, and avoid any semblance of sulking.

Most bosses prefer employees who care about * , improving the company ( mostly these who put up points / proposals and bring the boss attention) . If you're clearly a team player after voicing your arguments, the next time you have something to say, you're likely to find a much more receptive boss.

you can say, if you have a say in that meeting, "Or, we can try this (Your) approach and may be able achieve a better degree of safety/assurance but that needs management ownership".
