with customer focused marketting brands are asking "what benefits are offered to a customer? where as in customer centric strategies marketting the question of brand is what do we gain from the customer. the underline theme of both the strategies is

you have to give in order to receive.

Thanks for the invite Lana!

My understanding is -Both relate to customer engagement - while the former relates to efforts in engaging certain segment of clientele for specific  product portfolio / specific age group etc and the latter anticipates the needs of larger section of populace with "innovation and technology" enabled future ready solutions acceptable to many customers in general

Strategy being Customer foucussed is driven by - is want based - customer taste / preference while Strategy being customer centric is driven by - is need based common denominator across larger cross section of customers  .

Customer-focused strategy > working to achieve what the customer wants. Customer-centric strategy > anticipating the customer needs and here the company exceeds their customers expectations and provide solutions out of the box.

it is hard to tell the difference between customer-focused and customer-centric thinking. However, when you peer into their internal processes, KPIs and other operating metrics, a different reality often emerges. What you discover when you look under the hood is that many companies mistake their customer-focused culture for a customer-centric one.

- customer-focused companies care about wants. because they are focused on delivering on customer wants.

- customer-centric companies care about needs. because It requires that you get deep into understanding their fundamental needs as part of your relationship management efforts.
