The eyes of the search engine see your code and not your design.

So, design will not affect directly search engine, but some times carring for design will lead to complex code that could be unclear for search engines.

For this reasons you should care to your code beside your design.

SEO, which means Search engine optimization, Is something different and have his own analyzers, tools and techniques, So your design will not do that huge effect on your rank... But your Code will! it's highly recommended to follow the best practice on your code because search engines and indexing the results due to code, not design.

Sure, it does affect the search engine ranking as a code and as a design look by improving SEO in so many ways for example using sauitable tags meta tags and keywords for the website content also, improving UI/UX will increase the ranking which is related directly to the design

its about traffic if you have more then more traffic on your website by your attractive design or contents then you will be noticed by the search engine.

simply it does not affect

in all case SEO related with back-end side but i think sometimes it will be affect for example :- if we have a design with a long code and a lot of this code is not important .

- if we have in our design images with high quality .- if we have no meta tags or we have a empty metatags ( keyword - description ) .- if we use a lot of non compressed libraries ( css - js ) that's will affect in loading speed
