Sky is the limit when we talk about business analyst roles & responsibilities. This role itself is a synonym of multitasking job. Requirement gathering & analysing them is just an initial phase of project management. Apart from it following are some key responsibilities which a BA has to fulfill -1) Client Coordination & relationship management - Consistent coordination with client is a must thing. When there are modifications in requirements, it becomes inevitable to coordinate. However, in rest of the cases also, a BA should keep coordinating with clients. Sharing timely progress report should be done. It will assure client that project is on track. Saying a general hello, also can build good professional relations with them. 2) Coordination with Technical Team - Simply making documentation of business requirements & functional requirements is not sufficient. Explain those your technical team in detailed manner. It will ease their work & speed of developing can be increase if the concepts are clear.
3) Followup with team - Daily followup regardin progress of work has to be there. It will help a BA to know the exact status of work, as at the end of the day, he/she is the point of contact between company & client.
4) Client Education & Training Or Post sales support - Even if the project is completed, client's team will require educational demos on system. Since a BA knows the project from start to end, I believe that the client query resolving part should be done by him/her.
