What are the aspects from the company's view which differentiates Sales & Business Development?
Such a great question !, people always mix between sales and development, they are related, but they're not the same.
Business Development : Developing the company and raising it's rank in every aspect including, image, sales, positioning and rank, pursuing strategic opportunities and identifying new markets for the company products.
Sales : selling service/product, closing deals and targets.
Sales and Marketing departments are usually under business development department, working and coordinating according to their vision and goals.
Actually, sales and business development should not be considered the same job at all.Instead, think of the two roles as complementary halves of a whole.
It’s true that both positions exist to help grow your business, but they achieve this end in different ways
In the traditional sense, business development refers to activities designed to expand your organization's reach into a new market
Sales reps are also responsible for demonstrating the product, handling prospect objections, and drafting contracts.
