Your manager is the company owner's son. Business wise he isn't fit for his position and knows nothing about management. How'd you deal with this?

Thanks

Two paths I have to walk on one of them

Either, I have to learn, teach, and train him well, then he will knows who work goes on !

Or, I have to inform his father in somehow, that his son does not know about our business, but this manner is difficult to do ( isn't it ! ).

I prefer the first one, teach him well, will save the business at the end and raise my level anyway

Regards

In my opinion, the best way is to try to build strong communication with this type of manager. In this way, you can teach, advise him, and tell him how the business is running.

Welcome to the real world.  It is every where like that.  You need to either stay and take what is going on or you will need to find another job.  This is from experience.  Yet sometimes you find some one who really wants to learn and work with you rather than to be the son of the owner yet can you handle it ?

Simply, If you have the skills & requirements, Apply in another company & check for other opportunity. In this Arab World, We are still so closed minded and Ego centered that this father will never accept that his son is lacking skills and doesnt fit the job.

At the end of the day, the son will take over his fathers company whether he is good or bad and you have to do what is right for you.

If you are the Service Account Manager what is the real problem? Since you are the Manager you need to take the lead. Hes the owner. All he needs to do is sit down drink his turkish coffee and watch. If this is a problem to you, open your own buisness or find a new job. Until then you have to deal with the management.
