I currently reside in the United States and customer service to the everyday person is quite important. People almost care more about customer service than the product or service, itself. Companies often boast about their rank in customer service to show consumers that their business is the best in the industry and that they actually care about people and not just making profit.

Therefore, many businesses will invest a great deal of money into providing a business model that is customer-focused. However, with the growing role of technology and media, people are finding that they are engaging less with people and more with machines. This can contribute problems, particularly in a society that values customer satisfaction.
