As a librarian, what's the required qualifications to be head of library?

Master of Library and Information Science

Relavant experiance , should possesd asst. HO library for a year or two.

Some oraganization will ask for a MBA degree also but that is not a madetory, 

in Egypt, to be a Head of Library you need first to be graduated from a Library or Information Science School or have  post graduate studies in the field. Secondly, you need to have several years of experience working in libraries and with staff (at least 5 years). It will help also if you receive some courses in strategic planning and practice report writing and preparing budgets.

TO BECOME A HEAD OF LIBRARY SHOULD HOLD MASTER DEGREE. MAIN REQUIMENT IS EXPERIENCE TO HANDLE ALL SERVICES OF LIBRARY CONVENIENTLY. I HAVE 14 YEARS EXPERIENCE TO HANDLE LIBRARY IN DIGITAL AND E- ENVIRONMENT.

FOR THE SAME I AM A QUALIFIED LIBRARIAN WITH HOLDING DIGITAL AND E-LIBRARY SERVICES, IN MY LIBRARY I HAVE MORE THAN 10000 G.B. DATA IN DIGITAL FORM AND MORE 30 CRORE BOOKS IN PDF FORMAT.

B.Lib Science or a M.Lib science

It depend on the types of the library if it in Academic library/ research library  it required Master Degree or PHD in Library and information studies and good work experience in the area. But in special library it may need only BA in library and information science

SHould meet basic qualification, Masters in Library & Information Science. Then proven records in the field. Enthusiastic and with innovative ideas to bring library in the forefront. Experienced hands in management also.

MLIs qualification is requried for head of Library

Librarian must have at least bachelor's degree in Library Science and he should have most updated in the world changing world of knowledge.

Librarians and exceptionally successful dedicated to their profession, and have clear TENDENCIES to help others find the sources of the information that they need. In order to be LIBRARIANS on the high level of professionalism to be having organizational skills as well as written communication skills supplied. In view of the changing role played by libraries in the communities, it is important for librarians possess digital culture to the General Knowledge Base solid. Librarians who seek to work in a specialized area, they need to develop the foundations in the basic concepts and language associated with a particular field. For example, LIBRARIANS who work in libraries, hospitals and health centers should have a good understanding of the principles of basic health conditions.

Masters Degree and above is relevant for one to be a head of a University Library
