Developing body language is sometimes a cultural thing.  In some cultures in Asia, it is encouraged to hide your through feelings.  In other cultures, body language developes with language.  In these people use a lot of hand gestures using wide arm movements.  So the body language developes naturally as their language skills develope.

But you can stop your body language from revealing your feelings.  There are some people who don't reveal a lot of how they feel with their body language.  They are usually described as being imperturbable, they appear to be always calm and not affected by the surrounding mood or atmosphere.
