Is it required to change the orientation of stirrups in beams at various locations of a span?

I was recently asked this in an interview. When I said orientation I meant the lip portion of stirrup which is bend . I didn't feel any significance in my knowledge please do help me find an answer.

Orientation of stirrups used for inclined stirrups and should by done after mid span, (if the strrups is inclined by 60 degree with the horizontal axis, it will be negative 60 degree after mid span when the shearing force becomes negative).
