  1. Apply non-dynamic screen saver
  2. Adjust the brightness level (to what is suitable/soothing to your eyes.
  3. Do not overcharge the laptop. Allow the battery to completely drain it before you plug it back
  4. Apply "sleep mode" when not working on laptop

Battery has a number of charge cycles it can go through before ending up dead for good, with that in mind never charge your laptop when there is no need for it to be charged. Usually what most users do is when the battery hits about 80-85% they end up plugging it in. That reduces your overall battery life, it is better to charge it when it reaches about half of the total life (50%). Also do not over charge your laptop. Do not end up discharging your battery (using below 25%) unless very neccessary. That can take a big toll on the battery. Use different methods to conserve your battery from adjusting the brightness, the power consumption of processor/ram under the power options. The latest processors are designed on a smaller chipsets (nm) so if you do ever need to switch to another one, try to get the one with the latest chipset.

  • Keep the charge/discharge to a feasible range.

  • Use the AC power when only using power-hungry applications (like 3D Software and Games)

  • keep the daylight function on at all times

  • The screen illumination can be brought to a medium range where you are comfortable, which saves battery and the enhances the screens life

  • Always keep charging in between 20% and 60 Percent so as to keep the temperature to a minimum, which also helps in keeping the battery life up.

hope these tips helps :)

You have select one of two solutions , first one remove the battery over using your lap on charger just,

or keep the charger connected at all time means charging process , your battery will be okay because charging and discharging reduces battery life

Let the battery uses its Alternating current (AC) power till the charge fully drains, then we use Direct Current (DC) to charge the laptop till it fully charged. After getting fully charged, remove the power cable to safeguard the laptop's battery for a long last.

hello Sarah,

Thanks for asking a good question, in order to increase your laptop's battery life cycle:

During using your laptop:

1.All we are focusing on is the charging and discharging as battery get heated

so in hardware point use fan cooling pad helps reduce temperature due to excessive CPU or RAM usage.

2.If your Battery is fully charged disconnect your power adapter as some modern lithium Batteries measured by charging cycle (i.e. (fully charged to fully drained )) .

3.The cooling fan plays role in cooling CPU, motherboard,etc... if you hear its sound means save all your work and shutdown your laptop. Try to remove battery once in a while and clean it with cotton pad and always ask for backup battery that is compatible with your laptop model (i.e. Vdc, AMh).

In software view you can out your laptop in battery saver mode(i.e. eco mode).

4.Use task manager to disable unused applications (i.e. icloud, notes) that consume much CPU.

5.Last tip if you are in long break use hibernate mode while in short use sleep mode.

Charge you laptop 100% and remove the power adapter, use it until the battery drains up to 90% and recharge. I do it once a week and I never had any issue with my battery for last five years and still gives me 7 hours battery usage.

avoid charge and discharge the battery so many times.

if you always use the charger , it is recommend to discharge the battery one time each 3 weeks at least.
