The position "Marketing Manager" is becoming very ambiguous. It means many things to many people. In your opinion what does a Marketing Manager do?

Add to this that there are different industries (eg. trade marketing manager) and different types of Marketing Manager and its a sprawling list of ever increasing responsibilities.  What does a marketing manager do in your industry?

Ambiguity of the position is on every person's perspective of it. Somehow, the position evolves as trade and market proliferates. As you've stated, or as you put your question, the position is/could be industry dependent which is I know determined by a company.

A marketing manager has to be deep planner & very creative ... I do not agree to be manipulating at work at all ... this is business environemnt ... the more your respect your business the more you build it right.

The Marketing Manager basically manages the Sales and Marketing Function, thats my understanding on the role.
