Do journalists need to learn Arabic, English, French, Russian and Chinese if they want to be knowledgeable about the political situation in the world?

In fact if your question if knowing those language will help to me to know people speaking each of them, my answer will be yes as each language contents the culture reflection of the people so to know people you need their language but for political issues it is not important. 

It may help but not so vitally necessary, so choose at least one of those, not all of them

actually been updated with languages is best because it give you the opportunities to know much more about other nation and cultures. for me the best journalist is the one how have good languages skills. 

in french we call this sector (langue vivante) it mean living language which can change everyday and you can know something new everyday.

so language help a lot not only to know the political situation in the world but to know the world it self.

but now with the  new generation of technologies  peoples goes directly for the easy way to know language the new apps which can translate for you everything at the moment.
