Well, that's an easy answer.

Generally banks are looking for profit like any other establishment/company.

They have main products to sell (Credit Cards, Personal loans and Home finance)

Actually the staff is the one who is trying his best to get it done with an easy process, but indeed, getting loans is not east as it looks due to many steps before the acceptance. And you can easily find big number of customers needed loans but were rejected for several reasons.

Simply, the customer thinks it's easy because the staff has target to achieve through these main products.
